Sandeep Gopalan: The Latest Contributor to the Race to the Bottom

Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 06:16AM The Race to the Bottom is pleased to announce the addition of Professor Sandeep Gopalan as a regular contributor to The Race to the Bottom. Professor Gopalan teaches at Arizona State and is currently visiting at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
Prof. Gopalan's research and teaching are primarily in the areas of transnational commercial law and corporate governance law. Before commencing his teaching career, Prof. Gopalan was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford where he earned a Ph.D. in commercial law, after finishing his B.C.L. degree. Prior to that he graduated from the National Law School of India with a Gold Medal in constitutional law.
Prof. Gopalan's career has included stints on Wall Street and in London as an investment banker and in California as a lawyer. In addition to several scholarly articles, Prof. Gopalan is also the author of a book entitled "Transnational Commercial Law." He is the former chairman of the Arizona Aerospace and Defense Commission (appointed by Gov. Napolitano), and current vice-chairman of the ABA Committee on Aerospace. He is a member of the California bar.
He will be writing on executive compensation, shareholder activism, and, as the post below indicates, on occasional topics related to corporate crimes.
